Del Mar College’s Trumpet Ensemble, Low Brass Ensemble and Brass Quintet will perform festive selections spanning the centuries during a Brass Ensemble Spring Concert presented by the college’s Music Department. The concert will conclude with a performance by the Corpus Christi Trombone Society under the direction of DMC Professor of Music Dr. Donald Pinson.
In celebration of International Trombone Week, this special performance will bring back Del Mar College alumnus Matthew Gomez as bass trombone soloist during the performance of John Stevens’ The Chief. The program will conclude with Gordon Jacob’s Trombone Octet in dedication to the memory of legendary trombonist Denis Wick (1931-2025). The concert is free and open to the public.
