Wreaths Across America 2025
City of Kingsville
KINGSVILLE, TEXAS (News Release) – A ceremony at the Kingsville City Hall will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 9:00am to commemorate the city of Kingsville being named as a Wreaths Across America location.
All three Kingsville cemeteries – Santa Gertrudis, Chamberlain, and Resthaven – have been approved for this distinct honor. US Congressman Vicente Gonzalez, Jr., 34th congressional district, will be on hand for the event.
“I’m overjoyed that all three cemeteries in Kingsville have been approved as Wreaths Across America locations so that the city and its people can show their support for our servicemembers,” said Congressman Gonzalez. “It is our sacred duty to not only care for our living veterans but to also remember the fallen—those that gave their lives for their community and their nation. Every wreath represents a promise kept to our heroes that their memory is alive and that their sacrifices are not forgotten.”
In 1992, Worcester Wreath found themselves with a surplus of wreaths nearing the end of the holiday season. With the aid of Maine Senator Olympia Snowe (ret), arrangements were made for the surplus wreaths to be placed at Arlington in one of the older cemetery sections that had been receiving fewer visitors each passing year.
Unable to donate thousands of wreaths to each state, Worcester began sending seven wreaths to every state: One for each branch of the military and an additional wreath to pay tribute to POW/MIAs. In 2006, with the help of the Civil Air Patrol and other civic organizations, simultaneous wreath-laying ceremonies were held at over 150 locations around the country.
Kingsville joins more than 4,900 participating locations in laying wreaths during Wreaths Across America Day on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11 am, a time that coincides with the National Wreaths Across America program that begins on the East Coast at 12 pm. Each cemetery will receive a wreath honoring each branch of the military as well as one for our fallen POW/MIA.
“The City of Kingsville understands the sacrifices that our men and women in uniform make on behalf of our nation,” said Mayor Sam Fugate. “We also understand the toll that their service takes on their loved ones.
