CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) – On Monday, July 19, Mayor Guajardo will welcome an international group of sailors and crew members who will compete on Corpus Christi Bay beginning Tuesday, July 20 at 11:00 a.m. The races will end at approximately 3:00 p.m. daily. The final day of racing will be Friday, July 23.

Forty-three J22 sailboats will take part in the event, which is held once a year at locations worldwide. The sailboats are 22 feet long and usually have a three or four-member crew.

“It is my honor to welcome the J22 World Championship competitors to our beautiful city and marina,” Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo said. “We are looking forward to hosting all of the sailors and teams. Good luck to all the teams!”
