Woof Pack Readers Club Returns to ACS

City of Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) – Animal Care Services (ACS) is proud to announce the return of the Woof Pack Readers Club. The reading program is offered every Friday from 4 P.M. to 5 P.M. at the Animal Care Services facility, located at 2626 Holly Road.

The program invites volunteers to read to the animals in the facility. There are many benefits of reading to animals to include improving a child’s self-confidence and public speaking skills. The program invites residents of all ages to participate; however, an adult must accompany children younger than 18.

Participants may bring their own book or choose from the “little library” selection recently installed, thanks to a partnership with an Eagle Scouts Troop. The public is encouraged to leave a book if taking a book from the “little library.”

For more information about the Woof Pack Readers Club or the “little library,” please contact Animal Care Services at 361.826.4630
