City of Kingsville
KINGSVILLE, TEXAS - (News Release) The City of Kingsville Health Department Animal Control & Care Center received notification of a mosquito that tested positive for West Nile Virus from the Texas Department of State Health Services lab. The mosquito was trapped August 13th near the 700 block of E. Warren Ave.
Crews will begin spraying the affected areas tonight. Other arbovirus testing remains negative.
The city recommends residents wear long sleeves and long pants if outdoors at dawn and dusk. You should also use a mosquito repellant that contains DEET.
Remember to check your property for any standing water. Buckets, tires & bird feeders can facilitate mosquito breeding.
Keeping your lawn maintained will also help curb mosquito breeding.
