Washington Coles Park Road Closures

City of Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) - Construction upgrades at Washington Coles Park are underway and are expected to last approximately 11 months, with completion anticipated by November. Due to the recent inclement weather, necessary road closures in the area have been rescheduled to begin Thursday, February 5. These road closures will ensure the safety of all residents, commuters, and construction workers.

To facilitate the construction, road closure signs and barricades will be strategically positioned to direct motorists and ensure a smooth flow of traffic around the construction zone.

The following intersections will be closed during the construction period:

  • Winnebago Street & N. Alameda Street

  • Winnebago Street & Sam Rankin Street

  • Intersection of Sam Rankin Street & Lake Street

  • Sam Rankin Street & Lobo Street

The North Beach Trailhead will still be accessible, with parking located at T.C. Ayers Park

A detailed map is included showing all road and intersection closures.

The plans for Washington Coles Park include a vibrant combination of recreational and community spaces. Key features will include an amphitheater for community events, a modern pavilion, vendor space, and improved lighting. Additionally, approximately 200 parking spaces will be available, inviting residents to the North Beach Trailhead

JE Construction Services, in collaboration with the City of Corpus Christi, has proactively communicated with all local businesses and residents in the affected areas to minimize disruption and ensure all stakeholders are informed and prepared.
