Wanted Suspect Arrested

BISHOP (News Release) - The Bishop Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (C.I.D) investigated several cases involving theft of vehicle parts within the city of Bishop over the past few weeks. During the subsequent criminal investigation, CID Investigators developed leads in the case, determined the whereabouts of the stolen property, and identified a suspect. Based on the probable cause developed throughout this investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained earlier today on the suspect in this case, identified as Rene Ramirez D.O.B 1/28/1980.
On the evening of Thursday, August 5, 2021, officers with the Bishop Police Department executed the arrest warrant for Theft <$2,500 with 2 or more previous convictions (State Jail Felony). Ramirez was taken into custody without incident and later transported to the Nueces County Jail, where he remains on a $1,200 Bond.
This investigation is still active and additional criminal charges may be filed at a later date.
