Ramped Up Mosquito Spraying Schedule Being Implemented

City of Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi, TEXAS — (News Release) Recent rain events in the Coastal Bend are expected to cause an influx of mosquitoes around the city, as stagnant water and high grass produce breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

Vector Control has ramped up its efforts to mitigate the mosquito population by scheduling 12 days of treatment and spraying across the entire city from the Island to Calallen. These efforts will begin on Saturday, September 7, and end on Friday, September 20.

Vector Control typically sprays at night when traffic conditions are minimal. Vector Control does not spray during inclement weather, elevated wind speeds, or in proximity to individuals who are outdoors.
