Video-Texas DPS Continue to Experience Human Smuggling

SOUTH TEXAS (News Release) - Last week marked the one-year anniversary of the June 27, 2022, human smuggling tragedy where 53 migrants were left inside a tractor-trailer while traveling to San Antonio.

Since then, Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers, continue to experience human smuggling situations where smugglers are traveling from locations across the state of Texas to smuggle illegal immigrants further into the United States.

This week, in two separate events, DPS Troopers and Florida Highway Patrol, Troopers recovered four illegal immigrants including two juveniles, from Mexico, who were concealed inside the trunk.

Troopers also pursued a stolen vehicle which was reported stolen out of San Antonio. The smuggler, of Laredo, was smuggling three Illegal immigrants from Mexico.
