Traffic Signals Being Added on Yorktown Blvd.

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — (News Release) Corpus Christi City contractor will install span wire traffic signals on Yorktown Boulevard at the Freds Folly Drive and Oso Parkway intersections beginning Wednesday, July 10. The installations will be completed on Thursday, July 11, and the traffic signals will be operational at both intersections.
The signals are being installed to mitigate safety concerns before the opening of the new CCISD Creekside Elementary School, located off Oso Parkway.
Both traffic signals will be replaced and upgraded to a mast arm system as part of the City’s Bond 2020 Yorktown Boulevard Street improvement project between Rodd Field Road and the Oso Creek Bridge.
Traffic Impacts: Motorists should anticipate periodic lane closures as flaggers stop traffic in both directions along Yorktown Boulevard on Wednesday and Thursday from 8:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to install the traffic signals. The intersection of Freds Folly Drive will be closed to thru traffic on Wednesday, July 10. Signals will be activated on Thursday, July 11.
Safety remains a top priority, and motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays, remain aware of the work zone, and follow posted signs.
