Toys for Tots partners with TAMUK
Texas A&M University Kingsville
KINGSVILLE, TEXAS (News Release) - The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program has returned for another year and is partnering with Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK).
The basic mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Program is to collect new unwrapped toys during October & November and distribute those toys to economically disadvantaged children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
“For Javelina Nation, care is more than a core value—it is the heart of our mission and extends beyond our campus and classrooms into the communities we proudly serve,” said Dr. Robert Vela, President of Texas A&M University-Kingsville. “When we pledge our commitment to our backyard that includes opportunities to serve the families in our region that most need our support.”
“We are very pleased to welcome TAMUK as the local sponsor for the Kleberg/Kenedy County & City of Bishop Marine Toys for Tots Chapter,” said Krystal Emery, the Toys for Tots local coordinator. “Their community service goals certainly align with those the Marine Corps have promoted for nearly 78 years through our Toys for Tots Program. Finding a present under the tree on Christmas morning is an experience every child deserves.”
Other community partners include the City of Kingsville, Kleberg County, and Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office.
Local businesses that would like to have a Toys for Tots Drop Box may register online at https://kingsville-tx.toysfortots.org
Applications for families will open online on November 1 and close on December 8. All toys and money collected in Kleberg County, Kenedy County & the city of Bishop will remain in these areas.
