Temporary Lane Closure to be in Effect

Harbor Bridge Replacement Project

CORPUS CHRISTI – On Monday, July 25, from 9 pm until 6 am, Tuesday, July 26, all southbound US 181 mainlanes will be closed between Beach Avenue and Burleson Street. The full closure is necessary for construction related to the Harbor Bridge Project.

 Motorists heading southbound on US 181 will be detoured at the Beach Avenue exit and follow the W Causeway Boulevard frontage road to reenter US 181 past Burleson Street.

Portable message signs will be in place to alert motorists of the freeway closure and detour route.

Motorists are urged to be aware of the mainlane closure, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones.  All work is weather permitting.
