Task Force and Border Patrol Intercept Smuggling Attempt on Highway 77

KINGSVILLE, TEXAS (News Release) - On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, Task Force agents assigned to Operation Lone Star, in coordination with the U.S. Border Patrol Special Investigations Unit (SIU) from the Rio Grande Valley Sector, successfully disrupted a smuggling attempt near Ricardo, Texas.

Task Force Agent M. Galvan initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling along Highway 77. During a subsequent search, agents discovered U.S. currency concealed in black-taped bundles, hidden inside an aftermarket compartment within the vehicle. In total, $208,930.00 in cash was seized.
