Suspects Identified in Bob Hall Pier Vandalism

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) - The Nueces County Sheriff’s Office says all four suspects sought in connection with the recent vandalism at Bob Hall Pier have now been identified.

The Sheriff’s Office thanked members of the community who provided information that helped investigators identify the individuals.

The suspects had previously been sought by authorities following an incident in which several people reportedly jumped a fence surrounding the pier, entered a building and damaged or discarded equipment.

According to Scott Cross with Nueces County Coastal Parks, the individuals removed multiple pieces of equipment and tools from the building and threw them into the water. While nothing was reported stolen, the damage and loss of equipment resulted in significant financial losses.

Items thrown into the water reportedly included a generator, tools, fans, tables, chairs and blueprints.

One contractor estimated that he lost approximately $5,000 worth of tools alone as a result of the incident.

The Nueces County Sheriff’s Office initially asked the public to help identify the four male suspects. Information provided by community members ultimately assisted investigators in identifying them.

The investigation remains ongoing. Additional information regarding potential charges or arrests was not immediately available.
