Suspect Arrested in the City’s Latest Homicide

CORPUS CHRISTI - (News Release) On Wednesday August 17, 2022, at 4:13 am officers were dispatched to 1800 Trey Way for an Unknown EMS call. When the officers arrived, they found a deceased male that had passed due to suspicious circumstances.

Detectives with the robbery/homicide unit investigated and determined that the victim died of an apparent gunshot wound. Detectives were able to identify and obtain a warrant for suspect involved in the murder.

At approximately 12:45 pm officers were patrolling in the area of Poenisch and Alameda when they observed the suspect vehicle. Officers stopped the vehicle and took the suspect into custody without incident.

The suspect, 43-year-old Richard Lee Dixon, was transported to the main station to be questioned by investigators. Dixon was then transported to the City Detention Center and processed for murder.
