Staples and McArdle Road Traffic Signal Improvements

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) –A contractor for the city of Corpus Christi will temporarily close the northwest corner of Staples Street and McArdle Road beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11.

The work is the third phase of a project to upgrade the traffic signal infrastructure at the intersection of Staples Street and McArdle Road and is expected to last four weeks

The fourth and final phase is expected to last an additional four weeks.

The project includes the installation of new mast arms, signal heads, and ADA infrastructure.

It also includes several other improvements, including curb ramps, the sidewalk, new high-visibility crosswalks, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant pedestrian signals, and push buttons, ensuring enhanced accessibility and safety for all residents.

Safety remains a top priority, and motorists traveling through this area must follow the posted detour signs to navigate the construction zone. Detours will be marked to ensure minimal disruption and maintain traffic flow.
