Smoke Plume Seen Near Landfill

KLEBERG COUNTY, TEXAS - (News Release) The large plume of smoke that was seen near the landfill this morning, Aug. 2nd, started as a controlled burn in a caliche pit. Kleberg County Fire and Rescue was called out to extinguish the burn and are on scene with aid from Naval Air Station Kingsville Fire & Emergency Services and Nueces County E.S.D 3 and Annaville Fire Department-Nueces County ESD #1. This is a large pit and smoke may be visible for the rest of the day.
