SINGLE VEHICLE TRAFFIC ACCIDENT / DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED (DWI)

BISHOP - (News Release) U.S. Highway 77 Access Road South and E. 4th Street, Bishop, Texas.
At approximately 8:20PM on Friday, April 1, 2022, Bishop Police Department Patrol Units, along with Nueces County Pct-3 Constables, ESD-3 Fire Department and ESD-6 EMS, responded to reports of a Major Traffic Accident on U.S. Hwy 77 access road south bound and E. 4th Street, in Bishop, Texas.
Upon arrival officers determined it was a single vehicle crash and no life threatening injuries were involved.
The Driver, an adult female, displayed signs of intoxication and a D.W.I investigation was conducted. During the subsequent investigation officers developed probable cause to believe the subject was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and she placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated (D.W.I).
The vehicle was impounded and the suspect was transported to an area hospital for medical clearance and blood draw and later booked into the Nueces County Jail.
Additional charges may be filed in this case related to the crash.
