Texas State Securities Board Appoints Cristi Ramón Ochoa as Deputy Securities Commissioner

AUSTIN, TEXAS (News Release) - The Texas State Securities Board on May 9 approved the appointment of Cristi Ramón Ochoa as Deputy Securities Commissioner. Ramón Ochoa joined the State Securities Board in 2016 where she served as a staff attorney in the Inspections and Compliance Division.
“Cristi has a wealth of experience that will continue to help the State Securities Board fulfill its mission of protecting investors” said Securities Commissioner Travis J. Iles. “As an attorney in the Inspections and Compliance Division, she has played a key role in ensuring that securities firms comply with the law and agency regulations.”
During her eight years as a staff attorney with the Board, she was responsible for conducting complex legal investigations into registered firms and individuals and resolving these investigations by entry of administrative orders that resulted in suspensions, denials, and revocations of licenses as well as the assessment of administrative fines.
Ramón Ochoa also serves as the Chair of the Broker Dealer Arbitration Project Group of the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) and as a member of the Broker Dealer Training committee.
Ramón Ochoa received her bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and a juris doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law.
