Search for Missing Swimmer on Padre Island Continues

CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) – The Corpus Christi Fire Department, Police Department, U.S. Coast Guard, and Flour Bluff Fire Department continue to search for a missing swimmer on Padre Island. 

Fire Chief Robert Rocha said last night around 8:00 p.m., dispatchers received a 911 emergency call for a drowning near Beach Marker 203 and Zahn Road. An 18-year-old male was swimming with his 16-year-old brother when the older male went missing.  

Coast Guard crews are using a helicopter and boat to search the water and beach shoreline.
