RVFD Mourns the Passing of Chief Aaron Guerrero

Rockport Volunteer Fire Department

ROCKPORT, TEXAS - (News Release) The Rockport Volunteer Fire Department (RVFD) has announced the passing of Chief Aaron Guerrero at the young age of 38. Aaron has served with the RVFD since he was 19 years old, and as Chief for the last 3 years. Being a member of RVFD was more than a hobby, Aaron committed countless hours beside his wife Emily and son Gabriel, all proudly serving as volunteer firefighters in the community.

Aaron has battled medical complications for the last couple of years. Fighting with determination, he was able to receive the donation of a heart and kidney earlier this year. Unfortunately, suffering from transplant complications, he passed this evening surrounded by his beloved family and brotherhood of firefighters.

β€œThe RVFD would like to sincerely thank the organ donor family, our fellow firefighters from near and far who have supported us, and the Guerrero Family for sharing Aaron with us the last 20 years.”

Details for the Final Arrangements and a formal obituary are pending.
