RGV Border Agents Rescue Aliens in Distress

EDINBURG – On Thursday, U.S. Border Patrol agents encounter 99 illegal aliens in stash houses and rescue another 62 during several incidents.
Early Thursday morning, Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) agents, working with the Starr County Sheriff’s Office apprehended 71 illegal aliens discovered in a trailer home in Garceno, Texas. Among the large group were women and children. The subjects were found crammed inside the small residence with no PPE. The smuggled aliens were from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Mexico.
Later that afternoon, Corpus Christi Border Patrol agents received a call from San Patricio County authorities requesting assistance with suspected illegal aliens concealed inside a moving train car (grain hopper). Further investigation determined that one of the trapped illegal aliens had called 911 requesting assistance as the group feared for their safety. Authorities safely extracted 14 subjects. The subjects were evaluated by medical personal and deemed to be in good health. The smuggled aliens were from Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico.
Additionally, agents assigned to the McAllen Border Patrol station were dispatched to a rescue beacon activation near the Rio Grande in Mission, Texas, where they encountered 48 subjects and a seperate stash house disruption which resulted in locating 28 illegal aliens inside a stash house in Hidalgo County
All subjects are being processed accordingly.
