Public Works Purchases Two New Pothole Spray Patchers

CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) - City Council approved the purchase of two new Bergkamp Spray Pothole Patchers. These units will be purchased locally from Rush Truck Center of Robstown, Texas. These two units will improve the Pothole Repair Program and the response time for city crews to complete service requests.
“The City Council action today will allow our City to repair a record number of potholes. Repairing our city streets is a top priority in my service as Mayor. I am staying fully engaged in street repair in order for us to see continued progress,” said Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo.
With the acquisition of the two spray patching units, the pothole crews will be able to repair a wider range of non-structural pavement deteriorations quicker and more efficient than ever. While traditional asphalt patching is the gold standard for roadways ranging from pavement surface defects to large depth potholes up to 2’ x 2’. Spray patching will provide several added benefits to the pothole repair program’s response, like single person operation and reduced time to acquire repair materials. The spray patching method of asphalt maintenance will provide City staff another tool for repairs of our city’s street infrastructure.
