Aransas Pass Police Department

ARANSAS PASS (News Release) - At around 11:50 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2023, Aransas Pass Police Department (APPD) rescue divers were sent to the San Patricio Navigation District located at 426 E. Ransom Road for a suspected body in the water. A witness told dispatchers that he saw a couple of shoes underneath his boat and believed it to be the body of another employee who walked off the job. Police arrived at the location and confirmed the shoes were attached to a body.

The body is described as a white male, possibly in his 60s with tattoos on his arms. He has facial hair and wore a dark solid-colored shirt, dark-colored pants, and sandals. The state of his body when recovered is making it difficult to identify him or any obvious causes as to what happened leading to his death.

APPD detectives are working to identity the decedent.

If you have information about this case, please contact Detective Stacey Allen or Captain Kyle Rhodes at (361) 758-5224.
