Operation Slow Down
Aransas Pass Police Department
ARANSAS PASS (News Release) - Aransas Pass Police Department (APPD) will join Texas in Operation Slow Down. The event kicks off on June 7th and will run through Tuesday, June 21.
TxDOT plans to fund 80% of APPD overtime expenses to put officers on patrol in two zones within Aransas Pass during this period. These zones are chosen by TxDOT through crash record data showing the areas to be most likely prone to speed-related injury crashes. Officers will be out working overtime focusing on speeding motorists.
Zone 1 - Highway 35 - Falman-County Acres
Zone 2 - Highway 35 - Premier Yamaha Boating Center to HEB
