The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Medicaid CHIP Services (MCS) department seeks a highly qualified candidate to fill the position of Nurse III Policy Analyst in the Medical and Dental Benefits Policy area.
This position requires excellent writing skills and strong research skills.
Experience conducting comprehensive literature reviews using resources such as PubMed/Medline, Hayes, and other health literature electronic databases and the ability to synthesize findings for clinical and non-clinical audiences is a must.
This nurse will apply research findings to developing policies for the medical benefits delivered in the Medicaid program. These findings must be interpreted correctly using Texas Medicaid requirements for developing medical benefits. For at least the first year of employment, this nurse will be required to work on a special project related to claims system updates. The nurse for this position will need to be familiar with national clinical coding guidelines and places of service. The nurse in this position will need to understand crosswalk coding methods and setups in a claims system, as well as be able to quality check policy language across the benefit handbooks to ensure all updates are accurately reflected.
