Nueces County Sheriff's K-9 and his Partner Wins Top Dog Honors

LAREDO, TEXAS (News Release) - On Friday, May 17, 2024, various law enforcement agencies and their K-9 partners joined in a competition that tested the skills between K-9 handler and their 4-legged partners.

Over 35 competitors from local, state, and federal agencies from Laredo and South Texas competed against each other.

The canines were judged for their response, alert, and location abilities. The handlers are tested on their ability to control and direct their dog and to identify canine behavior changes when narcotics are present.

Nueces County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Rudy Gonzales and his K9 partner Hera secured 3rd place.
