NIFA Invests Nearly $463K to Support Education Outreach

(News Release) - Within the U.S. and its territories, the Cooperative Extension System has repeatedly served as the trusted community organization that has helped to enable families, communities, and businesses to successfully prepare for, respond to, and cope with disaster losses and critical incidents. Funded Smith-lever Special Needs Competitive Grants Program projects implement educational outreach initiatives for disaster preparedness, response, mitigation, and recovery (pre-disasters, during, and post-disasters). In FY 2021, NIFA invested nearly $463,000 to support six projects at five 1862 Land-grant Universities.
