NEC Offers Sixteen Scholarship Awards

ROBSTOWN, TEXAS (News Release) – Nueces Electric Cooperative (NEC) is extending scholarship opportunities to high school seniors who are dependents of Nueces Electric Cooperative members.

Below, you'll find details regarding the various awards available.

4 Year Scholarships: (1) $4,000 Ramiro De La Paz Memorial Scholarship, (1) $4,000 John L. Sims Memorial Scholarship, (10) $1,000 scholarships. *Must attend a 4-year college or accredited university in Texas.

2 Year Scholarships: (2) $2,000 scholarships. *Must attend a 2-year or vocational accredited college in Texas.

Lineworker Scholarships: (2) $5,000 scholarships distributed upon completion of a qualifying lineman’s college. *Open year-round.

"As a community-based organization, we believe in investing in people. That's why I’m proud to say we offer over $30,000 in college scholarship awards to our members dependents. We see education as not just an investment in our community, but in what could be the future leaders of our co-op." says CEO Varzavand “Avan” Irani.  Nueces Electric scholarships are open to all high school seniors whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) are NEC members. Applicants must apply online at nueceselectric.org/necscholarships by Saturday, February 10th, 2024, by 5pm.
