National Celebration Honoring Health Centers

Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation

Corpus Christi (News Release) – Every August, the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) sponsors National Health Center Week (NHCW) to celebrate and increase awareness of America’s 1,400 Community Health Centers (CHCs). National Health Center Week was August 6-12 and was an opportunity to highlight the commitment and passion of Community Health Center staff, board members, and supporters who make it possible to provide quality, comprehensive healthcare services to more than 30 million patients across the country.

More than 100 million Americans – nearly one-third of the U.S. population have difficulty accessing a primary care provider. Health centers are essential to closing the primary care gap. “We know that there are community members who need our services across the Coastal Bend. These realities are not taken lightly. Times change, grant funding comes and goes but our communities and families still need the best care possible. Whether it be primary care, specialty care, behavioral health programs, support programs, or something in between, Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation will answer that call”, Bill Hoelscher, Chief Executive Officer states.

The agency offers primary and specialized health care, a satellite clinic in Kingsville, a 24/7/365 Mental Health Emergency Hotline, LGBTQ+ support groups and the only Pride Center south of San Antonio. Additionally, CBWF offers substance misuse programs, substance outpatient treatment services, sexual health testing, women’s health initiatives, and youth resiliency skill building programs. The Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation aims to be your community health center; committed to taking the lead in health and wellness initiatives.
