KINGSVILLE (News Release) – Naval Air Station Kingsville participated in an annual force protection exercise during the week of February 6.

Exercise Citadel Shield-Solid Curtain 2023 is conducted annually by Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command and Commander, Navy Installations Command on all Navy installations in the continental U.S.

“These exercises are designed to ensure air station personnel are at peak readiness to deter and respond to potential security threats.” NAS Kingsville Commanding Officer Capt. Eric Bromley said.

Exercise Citadel Shield-Solid Curtain is conducted annually by Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command and Commander, Navy Installations Command on all Navy installations in the continental U.S. It is designed to enhance the readiness of Navy security forces and ensure seamless interoperability among the commands, other services, and agency partners to protect life, equipment and facilities.

Exercise CS-SC23 is a regularly scheduled exercise and is not in response to any specific threat.
