Narcotics Interdiction at Immigration Checkpoint

SARITA, TEXAS (News Release) - During a routine immigration inspection at the Javier Vega Jr. Checkpoint, a U.S. Border Patrol service canine alerted to a vehicle, which was subsequently referred to secondary inspection.

Agents discovered multiple bundles of narcotics concealed within a hidden compartment beneath the rear passenger seating area.

The driver was detained, and the narcotics and vehicle were seized in accordance with federal guidelines. The case was transferred to Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) for further investigation and prosecution.
