Corpus Christi Moody Girls Basketball Players Suspended

UIL State Executive Committee

CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) - Two student-athletes from Corpus Christi Moody High School were suspended from all participation in extracurricular activities for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year.

The decision came as a result of a fight at McAllen’s Border Bash tournament on November 17, 2023.

One other student athlete from Moody High School was suspended for the rest of the 23-24 basketball season. The Moody High School Girls Basketball Program was placed on two years’ probation and issued a public reprimand. Additional training will be required for the Moody High School Girls Basketball Coaching Staff.

The Nixon girls' basketball player is seeking legal action after being attacked by multiple Corpus Christi Moody players during the game. The incident occurred on a neutral court, causing the game to end abruptly.
