Major Accident on U.S. 77 Near Sinton Draws Mutual Aid Response

On Friday, May 22, 2026, a major motor vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 77 north of Sinton prompted a large emergency response from multiple agencies.

The crash occurred on U.S. 77 between TX 188 and U.S. 181, where deputies and first responders arrived to find several individuals injured. Two elderly women and one elderly man were transported by EMS to receive further medical treatment.

Due to the severity of the accident, the Sinton Volunteer Fire Department requested mutual aid assistance from Taft Fire & Rescue and the Odem Volunteer Fire Department. Firefighters, EMS personnel, DPS Troopers, and law enforcement officers worked together to provide patient care, secure the scene, and assist those involved in the crash.

Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
