Leopard Street SH 286 Overpass Open

Harbor Bridge Project

CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) – On Friday, September 29, 2023, Leopard Street will permanently open with a new bridge providing a safe crossing for motorists and pedestrians over SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway). The four newly constructed lanes, sidewalks in each direction, associated underground drainage, utilities, and lighting from Doss to Josephine Street represent a significant milestone for Harbor Bridge Project Roadworks construction.

The new route will provide better access for commuters along IH 37 and Northside Neighborhoods to access Uptown areas, Corpus Christi City Hall, and the Nueces County Courthouse.

Motorists are urged to be aware of the new traffic configuration and to slow down in the work zones. All work is weather permitting.
