Kleberg County Sheriff

KINGSVILLE, TEXAS - (News Release) It is with heavy hearts that the Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office announces the passing of

Constable Billy Hack, Kleberg County Pct. 1. Constable Hack dedicated his life to serving the people of Kleberg County for nearly 8 years as Constable, and before that, as the county’s Warrant Officer.

Throughout his time in office, Constable Hack exemplified what it means to serve with kindness and dedication. He was a champion for the children of our community, providing school supplies, jackets, clothing, and shoes to schools across the county, often from his own pocket. He took the safety of our children seriously, overseeing the painting of school zones and establishing Operation Crosswalk to ensure the safety of our youngest residents.

Constable Hack also extended his generosity and compassion to our elderly community members, providing them with essential supplies such as wheelchairs, fans, mobility scooters, and more. His commitment to helping those in need has left a lasting impact on Kleberg County.

On Friday, July 5th, while preparing his unit and performing his duties in anticipation of Hurricane Beryl, Constable Hack suffered a serious stroke. Despite the efforts of medical professionals and the prayers of the community, he passed Aug.26th.

The Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office are deeply saddened by this loss and extend their heartfelt condolences to Constable Hack's family and friends during this difficult time. His dedication, generosity, and unwavering commitment to the community will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Constable Hack.
