Kingsville Bookstore Owner Publishes Photo Book

KINGSVILLE (News Release) - A Walk Downtown: Kingsville, Texas was the brainchild of Tom DiFrancesca a former newspaper and magazine columnist who now co-owns The Novel Blend bookstore along with his wife Jill. The ninety-five-page large format photo book also contains several poems written by DiFrancesca who also captured the images included in the new publication.

DiFrancesca has been a resident of Kingsville for 11 years and has always been a huge fan of the historic downtown area and so has been taking pictures for the past several years. “I’ve always seen a great potential for downtown Kingsville to grow and to thrive,” Difrancesca said. “I am hoping the photo book will encourage folks to help bring more life and activities downtown. I have read several articles that mention the fact that when an historic downtown area thrives it causes the entire community to thrive,” he offered. DiFrancesca says that the only area of Kingsville they considered before building the bookstore was downtown.
“My goal with the photo book is to recreate the warm feelings of taking a nice leisurely stroll on ‘Main Street’ in hometown America,” DiFrancesca said. The author feels like people miss out on a lot of experiences and details when they just drive up and down E. Kleberg Ave instead of getting out of their vehicles and taking a walk.
