K9 Alert Leads to Discovery of $64,790 on Highway 77

RICARDO, TEXAS (News Release) - On Thursday, September 18, 2025, Special Agent E. Gonzalez, working under Operation Lone Star, conducted a traffic stop along Highway 77 near Ricardo, Texas. The vehicle, occupied by two women traveling toward the Mexico border, raised several indicators of possible criminal activity.

K9 Sig was deployed during the stop and alerted positively to the vehicle. A search uncovered two after-market compartments concealed beneath the front seats. Inside one of the compartments, agents found three bundles of U.S. currency totaling $64,790.

The investigation is ongoing.
