CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS - (News Release) On December 9, 2024, at about 4:01 am officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of S. Padre Island Dr. in reference to a burglary in progress. Dispatch advised two individuals were seen breaking into vehicles at the business. One subject was wearing a black hoodie and the other was wearing a grey hoodie.

Multiple officers converged on the location and observed the two suspects running away. Officers gave chase to the suspects who evaded into the nearby neighborhood. One male was located in the back yard of a home. He was taken into custody without incident.

The second suspect who evaded was not located.

Officers checked the business and located two vehicles with the steering columns damaged. One vehicle had a broken window. A metal bar was located near the vehicles.

The male that was located was identified as a 13-year-old juvenile. He was transported to the Nueces County Juvenile Justice Center for booking. He was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (UUMV) and Evading Arrest/detention.
