James Jefferson, former NFL star promoted to head coach at H.M. King

James Jefferson, former NFL star has been promoted to head coach at H.M. King High School. Mike Davila will remain as the athletic director and the head baseball coach.  

Jefferson, who started his football career at H.M. King High School and then on to play college football at Texas A&M University Kingsville, known then as Texas A&I, went on to play defensive back for the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League (NFL), the BC Lions, and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian football League (CFL).

He won two Grey Cup championships, one with the Blue Bombers in 1988 and another with the Lions in 1994.

According to various media reports, Jefferson was announced as the head football coach on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.
