EDINBURG (News Release) – Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) agents arrested two migrant child sex offenders and multiple gang members.

On April 22, Weslaco Border Patrol Station (WSL) agents processed Fernando Pena-Ramirez.  Pena-Ramirez is a Mexican national convicted of indecency with a child in 2005.  He served four years and was removed from the U.S. in 2009.

WSL agents apprehended Juan Perez-Hernandez, a Mexican national, on April 24.  Perez-Hernandez was convicted in 2014 for the sexual assault of a child.  He has a prior conviction for assault causing bodily injury to a family member in 2011.

Over the weekend, RGV agents arrested four gang members: two Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) and an 18th Street from El Salvador, and a Paisa from Mexico. One of the MS-13 migrants was sentenced to 90 days’ confinement for grand theft, burglary, and receiving stolen property, respectively, in 2007 in Santa Ana, California.  The Paisa was sentenced to 60 months’ confinement for possession with intent to distribute cocaine in 2018.

All subjects were processed accordingly.
