Health District Receives 5,000 Vaccines

CORPUS CHRISTI – The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District received 5,000 Moderna vaccines on January 28th.
A Phase 1A and 1B mega vaccination drive-thru clinic will take place Friday, January 29, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds, 1213 Terry Shamsie Boulevard, Robstown, Texas.
Concurrently, the clinic will host a pre-scheduled second dose vaccine clinic for individuals who received the vaccine on December 29, 2020. The second dose clinic will take place tomorrow Friday, January 29, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds. Patrons receiving their second dose have already been contacted and will enter through a separate entrance.
There will be two entrances for patrons as they enter the fairgrounds. All first-dose traffic will come from the I-69 Northbound frontage road to County Road 44. First dose patients will enter the fairgrounds through Texas Yes Boulevard. Second dose patients will enter the fairgrounds through Terry Shamsie Boulevard.
In addition, 500 doses of the Moderna vaccine will be given to the Corpus Christi Fire Department (CCFD) so they can continue inoculating the elderly through the Saving Our Seniors (SOS) program. These doses are part of the 5,000 vaccines delivered this morning. CCFD has already identified the recipients of these vaccines through City-run senior programs.
Thus far, firefighters/paramedics have administered 239 doses through the SOS program. City officials ask residents to refrain from going to fire stations looking for vaccines. Plans are in the works to expand the current SOS program.
