Harbor Bridge Project Road Impacts for Tuesday and Wednesday

CORPUS CHRISTI – (News Release) Upcoming Harbor Bridge Project mainlane reduction will affect northbound IH 37 traffic.
On Tuesday, March 22, from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, northbound IH 37 traffic will be reduced to one lane from Staples Street to Sam Rankin Street. The mainlane reduction is necessary for construction related to the Harbor Bridge Project.
Portable message signs will be in place to alert motorists of the mainlane reduction.
On Wednesday, March 23, from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Thursday, March 24, all northbound IH 37 mainlanes will be closed from Mesquite Street to Staples Street. The closure is necessary for construction related to the Harbor Bridge Project.
Motorists traveling from the Bayfront area will follow the detour signs to Chaparral Street, Belden Street, North Tancahua Street, continue the Martin Luther King Drive frontage road, and take the on-ramp past Stillman Avenue to merge onto northbound IH 37.
Motorists are urged to be aware of the mainlane reduction, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, and slow down in the work zones. All work is weather permitting.
