Harbor Bridge Project closure to affect Breakwater Avenue on North Beach

Harbor Bridge Replacement Project

CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) – Beginning Friday, February 10, at 8 am, through Wednesday, March 22, Breakwater Ave will be closed from Surfside Blvd to Avenue F. The closure is necessary to install a new waterline at Breakwater as part of the Harbor Bridge Replacement Project.

Breakwater Ave traffic from E Causeway Blvd will be detoured onto Bridgeport Ave during the utility installation. Surfside Blvd will be temporarily converted to two-way traffic to provide northbound and southbound access to Bridgeport Ave.

Digital message boards and additional directional signage for North Beach attractions will be added to alert motorists of the closures and to assist with navigating the alternate route.

Motorists are urged to be aware of the closure, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones. All work is weather permitting.

For information about all current and upcoming lane closures related to the Harbor Bridge Project, visit www.harborbridgeproject.com.
