Fatal Crash in Aransas Pass

ARANSAS PASS (News Release) - At around 5:30 pm this afternoon, responders were called to the area of Hwy 35 Business and West Gile Avenue for a major crash.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 3-vehicle crash with several injuries. A 40 year of age male of Aransas Pass sustained serious injuries during the crash and was later pronounced deceased at an area hospital.

Other injuries in this crash were minor.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the vehicle the deceased man was operating stopped to make a left turn when a vehicle struck the vehicle from behind, pushing it into an oncoming vehicle.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
