Driver Escapes Injury After Crash Near Bishop

BISHOP, TEXAS (News Release) - A driver escaped apparent injury Wednesday afternoon after a single-vehicle crash near U.S. Highway 77 and County Road 12.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:35 p.m. Oct. 7, according to the Nueces County Constable Precinct 3 Office.

Deputies said the passenger vehicle was traveling southbound when the driver took evasive action to avoid a semi-truck. The vehicle then overcorrected, crossed the median and continued across the northbound lanes before striking a light pole.

The vehicle came to rest in the outside median.

The driver was treated at the scene by ESD 6 Allegiance EMS. No apparent injuries were reported.

Nueces County Constable Precinct 3 deputies, ESD 3 Fire Department, ESD 6 Allegiance EMS and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to the crash.
