DRISCOLL (News Release) - At approximately 2:00 am on April 2, Bishop Police Department patrol officers responded to reports of a residential structure fire near the intersection of U.S. Hwy 77 and FM 665.

Officers discovered a barn behind the newly constructed Dollar General was fully engulfed. Nueces County ESD-3 Fire Department arrived to extinguish the fire.

Witnesses on scene observed a male subject with 2 gas cans intentionally set the barn on fire before departing in an older model passenger vehicle, on FM 665.

This case is being investigated as arson and the state fire marshal has been contacted to assist in the investigation.
