Did You Know?

Texas Department of Public Safety

TEXAS - (News Release) DID YOU KNOW? If you illegally pass a stopped school bus, it may result in a fine up to $1,250 for your first offense. For people convicted of the offense more than once, the law allows for the person’s driver license to be suspended for up to six months. A ticket for this offense cannot be dismissed through defensive driving. Criminal charges are possible if a driver causes someone serious bodily injury.

As we approach the upcoming school year, DPS wants to remind all drivers to make safety around school buses a top priority. Always follow the law.
