Delegation from France Visits Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) – The Corpus Christi Sister City Committee announces the arrival of international delegates from their sister city in Agen, France, beginning Thursday, October 27, through Wednesday, November 2. The visit is part of an exchange promoting Corpus Christi’s cultural and economic presence in the international community.

On Friday, October 28, beginning at 9:00 a.m., Mayor Paulette Guajardo, City Councilmember Ben Molina, District 2, and Sister City Committee Chair Melody Cooper, will host a Welcoming Ceremony in the Executive Conference Room of City Hall, 6th floor, 1201 Leopard Street.

Mayor Guajardo will present the delegation with a key to the City of Corpus Christi and a commemorative gift. Following the ceremony, the French delegation will tour City Hall.

At 7:30 p.m., Del Mar College will host a free concert at the Wolfe Recital Hall, 101 Baldwin Boulevard, by acclaimed pianist and Agen, France resident Marc-Olivier Poingt (Pre-recorded video performance) and live performances by Dr. David Sutanto and Dr. Shao-Shan Chen, professors of music with Del Mar College.

During their visit to Corpus Christi, the delegation will tour some of our City’s most iconic institutions and attractions, including:

  • Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi

  • Naval Air Station Corpus Christi

  • Del Mar College

  • The Port of Corpus Christi

  • The Texas State Aquarium

  • The U.S.S. Lexington Museum on the Bay

  • Mustang Island State Park

  • The Día de los Muertos Festival
