Crimestoppers Donate Bleeding Control Kits to Area Schools
Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers
CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) - Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers, Inc., in collaboration with the Safe School Program, recently embarked on a special initiative to enhance safety measures in schools. We are proud to have provided intermediate bleeding control kits to various school districts, including Bee, Goliad, and Live Oak counties, as well as two private schools and one charter school. The allocation of these kits was based on a ratio of one kit per five students, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
In addition, we also obtained intermediate bleeding control training kits for distribution among school administrators and campuses. These training kits serve as valuable resources for educating staff members and empowering them with the necessary skills to respond effectively to bleeding emergencies.
To date, a total of 987 intermediate bleeding control kits and 23 intermediate training kits have been delivered.
The availability of the bleeding control kits is made possible through the kind and generous contributions of donors who have graciously supported the annual law enforcement dinner and other fundraising events organized by our board of directors.
The Safe School Program is especially dedicated to Ann Perkins, one of the victims of the tragic Santa Fe High School shooting in May 2018. It is in her memory and in honor of all those affected by such incidents that we are committed to empowering schools with the necessary tools and knowledge to respond effectively in emergency situations.
